How is everyone affording these carriers? My pregnant best friend confronted me. She had read my glowing endorsement in my article Artipoppe Carriers – are they worth it? but still couldn’t imagine forking out the £400+ for the privilege of sporting one of theses instantly recognisable luxe carriers. And yet these beautifully crafted artisan carriers remain high on the most desirable of baby wares. Surely there are alternatives to the high end aspirational carrier brand that don’t require you to cash in an isa or sell off an organ? I set out to find the best Artipoppe Zeitgeist Baby Carrier dupe in 2025.
What’s so good about the Artipoppe?
If you haven’t seen one of these carriers out in the wild you soon will do. The Dutch Brand are synonymous with supreme quality carriers crafted in the most opulent of materials – organic hemp, Egyptian cotton and cashmere. They started to gain a following when influencers such as Kylie Jenner and Gigi Hadid took to social media endorsing the brand. Even Princess Eugenie is a fan. Sporting animal prints, tassling, wolf motifs and ying yangs the brand has shaken up the pastel polka dotted landscape of baby carriers.
These carriers have gained unbelievable traction despite the hefty price tag of £300 -£300 for a carrier. So what is the best Artipoppe carrier dupe in 2025?
Bizzi Growin Nomad Carrier
If you after a dead ringer for an Artipoppe baby carrier at a fraction of the price you may well consider UK fashion forward parenting brand Bizzi Growin. Their line of fashion carriers make barely any attempt to disguise that they are Artippoppe dupes and you will find pretty accurate copies of the Zeitgeist in unnatural Zebra, leopard and velvet. The only real distinguishing aesthetic is the Bizzi Growin Bee motif on the metal studding and of course the absence of the Artipoppe Peacock which is replaced by a leather tag.
I tried on a velvet version at the Baby Show this year and found it comfortable, good looking and easy enough to put on. Does it feel luxe? No but at this price point I didn’t expect it to. It’s a less robust version with a velcro adjustable baby hip seat and alas no hint of the exquisite handle of Artipoppe and its premium organic cotton, vicuña wool and velvets.
But if it’s just the look you want it’s not half bad. Also worth mentioning that I did have a feel of their Zebrano Nomad carrier (pictured), an almost identical Artipoppe unnatural Zebra dupe, which felt a lot more substantial in terms of quality than the velvet.
Nest Blanche
Another Dopple ganger for the dutch brand, Nest Blanche comes with the cheapest price tag. Priced comfortably below £50 on Amazon, this carrier has no distinguishable branding features which I love. I tried out the black velvet version which was very similar to the Bizzi Growin version. A good enough carrier for the price, it carried my two year old safely and comfortably.
But this is not a carrier for a newborn despite its claims. For a soft structured carrier it is frankly a little too soft. The body lacks structure and the velvet whilst soft and inviting is saggy in the front and there would be ample space for a small baby to slump. The neck is also wide with little support for a newborn head.
The carrier felt short to me and sits quite high on my torso which might be an issue for a postpartum belly too. If you are looking for a fashion carrier for the odd wedding or special occasion and your baby is big enough to fit comfortably why not but this is probably not the best option for everyday babywearing.
Momcozy
Another competitively priced choice is the Momcozy baby carrier. A less obvious dupe, Momcozy offers a small range of carriers with a similar shape and sentiment. There is a leopard option and a black option with the same stud detail. The Carrier claims to be safe for newborns but has a wider neck than Artipoppe, with little neck and head support and a large stiff waist belt that might prove uncomfortable for a postpartum mother. Honestly it feels cheap and wouldn’t be my first choice. Buy on Amazon
Ergobaby Omni Dream in Leopard
Jumping on the bandwagon of the Leopard trend are Ergobaby, long time giants of the baby carrying space. The Ergobaby Carrier was one of my first structured carriers which served me well through two babies. A great carrier which ticks all the boxes although I will say if you are looking for a functional carrier at a similar price Carifit is hard to beat. But this is a comfy carrier with a nod to the animal print trend with all the wonderful benefits of this tried and tested brand – excellent lumbar support, multiple carry positions, soft and quality touch and fully adjustable for a newborn without an insert. Editors’s Pick: Oscha Slings
More of a lovely alternative than a dupe, I will go so far as to tip Oscha as the next Artipoppe at a slightly more stomachable price.
These exquisite carriers are attention grabbing, enviably luxe, with unique designs and a boho sensibility similarly capitalised on by Artipoppe. Nodding to the natural world, wildlife and mythology. Prints are original to the brand and everything is handcrafted in Scotland, a far cry from the Chinese factories employed by the other brands in this article (including Artipoppe itself).
Priced at £195 these are high quality carriers, with provanence and integrity and less of an ego. Want to get ahead of a trend? Head to oscha slings.
Is it safe to buy an artipoppe dupe?
Before buying any baby carrier its important to undersatnd the large variety of needs it will need to fulfil. Of course we want it to look great but it will also need to be comfotable and safe ffor you and baby, brain fog hardy ease of use, easily adjusted for both your changing bodies, washable and preferably ethically made and sustainable. Where possible look for validation from the international hip dysplasia institute and pay close attention to the brand’s sustainability report.
Many of the above mentioned carriers are considered fashion carriers and not for everyday use. Whilst Artipoppe carriers are expensive, it may be worth sucking up th extra cost and investing in a mid range carrier (Ergobaby, Carifit, Oscha) that will serve you and baby well for the duration of your baby wearing journey, rather than buying a cheap dupe that you dread wearing.
Whilst social media trends come and go, comfort on the other hand is timeless. However if you do decide to go for the real Mccoy despite it being a little out of your price range, you may be heartened to learn that they retain a great resale value.
