Imagine Children’s Festival

London’s Imagine Children’s Festival returns to the Southbank Centre this February half-term (18-23 February 2025)! Plus, the ever-popular REPLAY, a playground built entirely from recycled materials, is back!
Some events are paid but lots are free including an interactive architectural trail, the giant Imagine Chalkboard and a live lip-sync battle.
This Year highlights include Dame Jacqueline Wilson in conversation about her much-loved Sleepovers series, plus a brand-new overnight experience where children aged 7–11 and their accompanying adults can explore the centre before camping out in the Royal Festival Hall.
Editor’s Pick: The Princess and the Pea – Christian Andersen’s Classic retold with an acrobatic twist – Perfect for ages 2+ (More Toddler Theatre here)

Let’s Play Korea at the British Museum invites families to get hands-on with traditional Korean games that have been played for generations and recently gained wider attention through Squid Game. Visitors can try favourites like yutnori, jegichagi and gonggi at their own pace, enjoy handmade Korean treats, and even take part in friendly mini matches with small prizes up for grabs. Ages 7+

Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends is set to be a natural fit for the Young V&A, a museum known for making exhibitions genuinely accessible to children. Who Let The Gods Out?
Tickets From £10
Who Let the Gods Out is heading to Polka Theatre, and it’s one we’re especially excited about – my 8-year-old has been studying Greek myths at school, so this feels perfectly timed. Based on Maz Evans’ hugely popular books, the show promises a funny, fast-paced introduction to the chaos of the Olympian gods, packed with humour that should land with both kids and adults. It’s definitely one of our most anticipated family theatre trips of the season. Ages 8+
Lunar New Year Family Day 2026
FREE
The Museum of the home is one of our favourite Free London Museums for Kids and is worth a visit at anytime of the year.
Family Lunar Day at the Museum of the Home offers a relaxed, welcoming way for families to celebrate the Lunar New Year together. This year’s programme focuses on the horse — the seventh animal in the Vietnamese zodiac — which symbolises strength, freedom, agility and generosity, with children born in the Year of the Horse said to be brave, energetic and free-spirited. From creative activities and storytelling to playful ways of embodying the horse, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while learning more about the traditions and meanings behind the festival

Expect a joyful, photo-friendly experience that will appeal to younger fans while tapping into plenty of nostalgia for parents too.

Voyage To The Deep – Underwater Adventures
Family Ticket of 4 from £27
Voyage to the Deep: Underwater Adventures at the Horniman Museum promises an immersive, hands-on journey beneath the waves, where children can climb aboard a submarine and come face to face with creatures like a giant squid. I hadn’t quite realised how fascinated my children were by underwater sea life until a recent visit to SEA LIFE Aquarium, so this interactive exploration of oceans, deep-sea discoveries and life below the surface is firmly on our radar.

The Great Big Bug Show scuttles into London this February, bringing poems, raps and catchy songs about the tiny creatures beneath our feet. Following a buzzing premiere at the Natural History Museum, it promises 50 minutes of high-energy fun that aims to spark curiosity, creativity and a newfound appreciation for the smallest creatures in our world.
