Anya Hindmarch’s Ice Cream Project

Daily Ice cream has always been my summer holiday mantra. If you find yourself tiring of traditional flavours head on down to Anya Hindmarch’s Ice Cream project where you will find novelty flavours such as Marmite, Heinz baked beans and my absolute favourite Kikoman Soy sauce. A great pit stop if you find yourself out and about in Chelsea with the kids this summer.

Pride in The Quarter Trail

Running from 1 June to 10 August, Pride in the Quarter is a free art trail through London’s Heritage Quarter, featuring 17 brightly decorated lion and lioness sculptures. Set against iconic landmarks including Trafalgar Square, St James’s Park, Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament, it offers a fun and unique way to explore the capital. Kids will love tracking down the colourful sculptures and discovering their different designs, while adults can enjoy some of London’s most famous sights along the route.
Quentin Blake centre for Illustration

Opening in London this month, the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration is the UK’s first permanent centre dedicated to illustration. Founded by the beloved artist behind Roald Dahl’s iconic book illustrations, it offers exhibitions, workshops and creative spaces designed to inspire children’s imaginations, encourage storytelling and nurture a love of art.

The Sun and the Moon: Art inspired by The Celestial

A lovely cultural outing for families this June, The Sun and the Moon: Art Inspired by the Celestial at the Saatchi Gallery explores how artists have responded to the sun and moon through a colourful, immersive journey from dawn to night. Kids will especially love Helios by Luke Jerram, a huge glowing recreation of the sun suspended in the gallery’s double-height space.

The Tiger who Came to tea

One for little ones, The Tiger Who Came to Tea returns to the Theatre Royal Haymarket this summer. Based on Judith Kerr’s much-loved picture book, this charming stage adaptation brings Sophie and her unexpected teatime guest to life with songs, puppetry and plenty of fun, making it a lovely first theatre trip for younger children.

Great Exhibition Road Festival
6th & 7th June FREE
The Great Exhibition Road Festival is a free annual science and arts celebration in South Kensington, London. Iconic institutions like the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and V&A come together to offer families an action packed day.
Expect interactive workshops and live shows, including hands-on science experiments, creative art activities, and engaging performances. You can meet experts, explore themed zones and tuck in to delicious street food.

Julio Le Parc

If, like mine, your kids need to experience art rather than just look at it, don’t miss Julio Le Parc at Tate Modern. Spanning seven decades of work by the pioneering Argentinian artist, the exhibition is packed with playful, immersive installations, shimmering light sculptures and bold geometric works. It’s a fun, interactive show that encourages visitors to step inside the art and see it from a whole new perspective. More Info
Luke Jerram: Stepping Out | Jeppe Hein: Appearing Rooms

If you’re looking for free outdoor fun for kids in London this summer, Southbank Centre has two brilliant immersive installations to check out. Artist Luke Jerram’s Stepping Out transforms a staircase into an interactive musical playground, where every step triggers sounds and melodies, creating a sensory experience that encourages children to play, explore and make music as they move. Meanwhile, Jeppe Hein’s Appearing Rooms returns to the South Bank with its iconic water installation, where walls of water appear and disappear to create ever-changing spaces for children to run through and splash around in. A much-loved London summer tradition for families, it’s one of the city’s most iconic free warm-weather experiences and a perfect way to cool off on a sunny day. Discover Children’s Story Centre Grand Reopening

Kid’s Week 2026: Tickets on sale 9th June
Kids Week is an annual initiative during the summer holidays in London that makes West End theatre more accessible for families.
During Kids Week, a child aged 17 or under can go to any participating show for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult. Additionally, you can purchase up to two more children’s tickets at half price, with no booking fees. This long-running promotion, despite its name, now spans most of the summer (20th July – 31st August) offering a wide variety of plays, musicals, and children’s shows. More Info here

Smithsonian Starstruck: An Immersive Experience
