May in London is bursting with family-friendly possibilities, and as a London mum myself, I’m always on the lookout for the best activities and attractions. Space: Could Life Exist Beyond Earth?

The Natural History Museum is a beloved London institution, especially for kids and families, and its new exhibitions always pique interest! Their latest offering, “Space: Could Life Exist Beyond Earth?”, promises an out-of-this-world experience.
You’ll get the chance to touch a piece of Mars, hold a fragment of the Moon, and see the Allende meteorite, which is even older than Earth. The exhibition explores the possibility of life beyond our planet, taking you on a journey from Earth’s extreme environments to distant planets. Particularly Recommended for ages 8+
And while you’re there, be sure to check out the Museum’s newly landscaped prehistoric garden and, of course, the ever-popular dinosaur exhibits.

Jurassic World: The Experience
Opens 23rd May Adults from £28.90 Child from £22.90
Dino lovers are you ready? Jurassic World: The Experience is set to roar into London this May at Neon Battersea Power Station, offering a thrilling, immersive adventure for the whole family. Visitors will get to walk among life-sized dinosaurs, including the towering Brachiosaurus and the fearsome T-Rex, and experience iconic scenes inspired by the beloved film franchise. This must-see exhibition brings the blockbuster Jurassic World to life with up-close encounters with prehistoric giants.
This exhibition opens just in time for May half term, and pre-release tickets are available in late April – get on the waitlist now to avoid missing out!

Popcorn!
From 15th May, FREE
Unleash your inner sound designer at Popcorn!, a new participatory exhibition by artist Jenny Pengilly at the Whitechapel Gallery. Inspired by Foley artists, this multi-sensory experience invites visitors of all ages to get hands-on with unusual props and create their own acoustic adventures. Explore the magic of sound effects and discover how everyday objects can be transformed into surprising sonic creations.

chelsea in Bloom
19th – 25th May FREE
Summer officially blooms with Chelsea in Bloom! This free-to-attend floral art show will transform the streets of Chelsea from May 19th to 25th. This year’s theme, “Flowers in Fashion,” will see shops, businesses, and restaurants adorned with stunning floral displays inspired by iconic fashion moments and legendary designers. Visitors can expect a vibrant and immersive experience, with creative designs and breathtaking displays.

Transport Explorers
From 27th May -1st June, Tickets £15
Take a thrilling ride through London’s transport history in “Transport Explorers: A Live Show,” a new family theatre production at the London Transport Museum. From the world-changing inventions of the 1800s to the smart solutions of today (and the even smarter ideas of tomorrow!), join two trainee engineers on a race against time. This 60-minute show blends comedy, science, and audience participation for a fun and educational adventure for the whole family.
The show will take place in the Museum’s new onsite Cubic Theatre in the heart of Covent Garden and is aimed at ages 5-11yrs. Tickets are on sale now for limited half term run however it will reopen for the Summer holidays!
Woolwich Works Family Events

Woolwich Works is bursting with family fun this May and June! Enjoy interactive music sessions, immersive theatre, and tribute concerts, including: a VE Day 80th anniversary singalong (with Babies!) a string quartet tribute to Taylor Swift and the return of the popular “Boppin’ Bunnies” interactive music show for babies and toddlers.
Whether you live south of the river or not, Woolwich Works is becoming quite the destination for accessible community centred and family friendly art and culture.

Spring Fair at The Farm

Spring into farmyard fun at Vauxhall City Farm’s Spring Fair! Celebrate the season with animal cuddles (including three new lambs!), sheep shearing, spinning demonstrations, games, and a sensory spring herb walk and more. It’s the perfect day out for nature lovers and families, and a great way to support the farm as it launches its 50th Anniversary Appeal to raise funds for animal care, farm upkeep, and their vital education and wellbeing programs. Peppa meets the baby Cinema Experience
