Set against the luscious Surrey Hills, Godstone Farm offers a very authentic Farm day out. This real working farm is home to over 500 animals including pigs, cows, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs goats and ponies. Watch the animals in their huge barns and paddocks or get up close and personal in the petting zoo where staff will happily place a chicken or rabbit on your lap if you wish.
Summer 2023 sees the opening of Godstone’s new and improved indoor soft play cited as the ‘biggest in Surrey’. The last soft play was pretty fabulous so I can only imagine what is in store for this Summer. The outdoor play areas are also impressive and expansive featuring sandpits, slides and swings to while away a summers day. The pig racing always draws a crowd too.
Fans of the Dinosaur Roar! picture book or just dino lovers in general will delight in the Dinosaur Roar trail featuring life size models of the book’s illustrations.
Hugely popular at peak times Godstone is a nicely manageable animal farm particularly suitable for toddlers and young children.

Like Godstone, Bocketts Farm is a true working family farm and exudes an air of the ‘good life’. However Bocketts is also a huge attraction park and the type of place you would be hard pressed to see and do everything in one visit.
The Farm features endless play areas including an indoor play barn, bouncy pillow, outdoor adventure playground, giant slides and sand pit. Lest you forget you are in the middle of the countryside, there are 15 minute tractor rides which take you on a tour of the stunning perimeter of the farm. There is also an animal discovery barn where you can feed the goats with animal feed and meet the piglets. Don’t miss the petting area with smaller animals and the infamous pig races where you can hedge your bets on ‘Porkahontas’ and ‘Ariana Grunte’.
Craft stations and bubble discos further add to the cool festival vibe of the farm and in the summer head over to Water Wars for a refreshing water balloon fight.
The Old Barn tea rooms offer an excellent child friendly menu. For a small additional cost there are also pony rides and quad bikes.
Bocketts is a great all weather choice with lots to do both indoors and out – be sure to arrive early or you won’t see it all! Also keep an eye of for special events around Halloween, Easter and Christmas.
Hobbledown Epsom
- Where: Horton Lane, Horton KT19 8PT
- Open: Mon-Thurs 9.30 -5.30pm Fri-Sun 9-6pm
- Prices: off peak from £17, Peak from £20
Hobbledown Epsom is an adventure farm and Zoo on an epic scale. The attraction carries a mythical theme, with costumed actors (Hobbits, Wizards, witches and the like) interacting with guests and storytelling in ‘The Thinkery’. Here litlle ones can really indulge their imaginations with impressive wooden play castles featuring tunnels, towers and slides under the gaze of dragons. There are bouncing pillows and Zorbing, sandpits for mining Cristalline and an impressive Raptor centre, home to 18 magnificent birds of prey.
If the weather does not permit, the huge indoor play barn will be enough to keep children occupied for as long as you wish. This area can get busy weekends but there is luckily an adjacent cafe with seating , allowing parents to watch the chaos from a distance.
Themes of fantasy and discovery are continued in The Imaginarium, a cavenous crypt of curios, merging messy play and digital interaction with live animals.
Hobbledown is home to a wide range of animals dotted around between attractions and out in the surrounding fields. Although there are lots of animals to see, I think it is fair to say Hobbledown feels more of an attraction park than a traditional farm. A great day out for the whole family either way.
